SKILD Center has reached a historic milestone by becoming the first special needs center outside the United States to receive accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This achievement recognizes 15 years of dedicated work promoting inclusion and supporting individuals with special needs and learning difficulties in Lebanon.
Since its founding, SKILD has developed a comprehensive range of services, including assessments, therapy, inclusive education programs, university support initiatives, family support groups, and training programs for educators and church leaders across Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. Through partnerships with schools and national advocacy efforts, SKILD has helped create more accessible and inclusive environments for thousands of individuals and families.

Following a comprehensive site visit and evaluation process, NEASC commended SKILD as a mission-driven organization distinguished by its passionate staff, strong leadership, and unwavering commitment to inclusion. The evaluation team highlighted the center’s significant impact on the lives of individuals with special needs and learning difficulties, noting that SKILD is not only providing essential services but also helping to transform societal perceptions of inclusive education throughout Lebanon.
In its report, NEASC recognized SKILD as a model organization whose influence extends far beyond its programs and classrooms. Through its partnerships with schools, universities, families, educators, and community organizations, SKILD has become a catalyst for change, promoting a culture in which individuals with special needs are valued, supported, and given opportunities to reach their full potential.
The accreditation represents much more than recognition of past achievements. It affirms the quality, integrity, and effectiveness of SKILD’s work while reinforcing its commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence. It also reflects the center’s dedication to maintaining international standards and continually enhancing its services to better meet the evolving needs of individuals, families, and communities.
As the first special needs center outside the United States to receive NEASC accreditation, SKILD’s achievement serves as a powerful milestone not only for the organization but also for the broader movement toward inclusion in Lebanon and the region. The recognition stands as a testament to fifteen years of vision, perseverance, innovation, and collaboration, while inspiring SKILD to continue expanding its impact in the years ahead.

SKILD hosted a special celebration to mark its historic NEASC accreditation. The keynote speaker was His Excellency HE Elias Bou Saab, who described the accreditation as “a source of pride for all of Lebanon.”
During the celebration, SKILD Founder Dr. Nabil Costa reflected on the significance of this achievement, emphasizing that accreditation brings with it an even greater responsibility to continue serving with excellence and advancing inclusion throughout the country.
SKILD Director Mrs. Hiba Al Jamal reaffirmed the center’s commitment to its mission, promising to move forward with renewed passion and dedication. She also expressed her gratitude to all the guests, partners, staff members, and supporters who have contributed to SKILD’s journey and joined in celebrating this important milestone.
