Workshop in Mansourieh: Welcoming Diversity in the Community

SKILD Center had the distinct privilege of conducting a specialized training session with the Beirut-Lebanon Church of Christ. This inspiring workshop marks a foundational first step in a crucial journey toward greater inclusion within their community.

The training focused on equipping and empowering church leaders, volunteers, and members with the practical knowledge and deep compassion necessary to effectively minister to and integrate individuals with special needs and their families.

At its heart, inclusion is about living out the full measure of Christ’s love. It means moving beyond mere acceptance to intentional, active embrace. The training highlighted core concepts, including:

• Understanding Learning Differences: Gaining insight into the specific challenges and unique gifts associated with various learning differences.
• Respectful Interaction: Learning practical strategies for communicating and interacting with dignity and respect.
• The Power of Support: Recognizing the often-overlooked burdens carried by parents and caregivers, and developing clear ways for the church body to offer tangible, sustained support.
