SKILD was very fortunate to have Dr. Sam Girguis, Director of the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology at Azusa Pacific University, and Dr Parke to train the SKILD staff on a variety of topics that would help them better deal and cope with all SKILD beneficiaries. The series of 16 workshops covered topics that included strategies for strengthening the skills and efforts of educators working with children with learning differences. Dr. Girguis highlighted the methods of motivating demotivated educators to use active learning strategies to integrate children with learning differences within their classes. He also explained about effective methods to help educators to realize that they are projecting their own challenges on learners.
